Fazenda (‘Farm’) began from a discovery
of 16th century colonial architecture of the
farmhouses of north eastern Brazil.

A rustic handspun feel but with the
surprising use of primary bold colour
against natural earthenware, white walls,
rattan roofs and wooden beams.

The landscape with its heavy red earth,
‘TERRA VERMALHA’ against such bright
blue sky ‘CEU AZUL’.

With rows and rows of green. Sugarcane,
coffee, vineyards, olives, palms.

The local markets are filled with cross
stitch, cutwork lace, embroidery showing
flowers, birds, hearts.

Its fun, its old fashioned and its lovely.

Its a simple, beautiful life.
